Catch-up

(This blog post apparently didn't post when I wrote it on Thursday.)

It's been over a week since I got my wisdom teeth removed and I'm still recovering. Remind me not to do that again :)
Anyway, playing catch-up--

Here's our Superhero picture from Chick fil A

My pumpkin--that didn't quite turn out as I hoped

Autumn and Eli's Blues birthday party

11 Tuckahoe children for now (while the Gunbys are helping a mom in need)

We were able to make it to one of Woody's football games. They won!

Kai and Abby

Billy and Sarah got married!!!! All my pictures were very blurry so I don't have any to share. But I got a picture of me and my baby girl!!

This pictures just makes me laugh. The boys have been watching Star Wars. They started with episodes 4-6. With episode 1 coming next, this is how I feel.
I guess I should add that I'm one of those weird people who loved Jar Jar Binks.

This crazy girl is starting to scoot around everywhere. It won't be long until she's crawling :( She has been reaching for toys and playing with them. And she started giggling occasionally. So cute!

And she can do the splits

And since life is starting to slow down, we're incorporating more school. I found a first grade math book at a thrift store that Liam and I both enjoy! So fun to see him learn.

Lots of fun days ahead! Perhaps with an abundance of photos.

Book it!

Yesterday was the annual Non-Halloween party at the Lee house. This year, since we had a book theme, we were supposed to dress as book characters.

Since the boys have been really into Peter Pan lately, we went as Peter and his crew.
It was a lot of fun piecing all the costumes together with things we already had at home plus a few thrift store purchases.

Kai had a good time with his costume

Don and I dressed up as Jonathan and Wendy Darling

Maggi, Mary Kate, and I went out to the cold to take dorky pictures

Maggi was Madeline and Mary Kate was a Star Trek person. She took the easy way out :)

Marissa showed up dressed as Peter Pan. Miranda was her shadow. Cute idea!

There were other cute costumes that I failed to photograph. I wish I was better about it but it becomes difficult to photograph everything when you have kids to watch.
We get one more use out of these costumes this week!

Contentment

Contentment. That subject has been on my mind a lot lately. It's something that I struggle with quite often.
Today, I have many reasons I could list off in which I could be discontent. I'm still recovering from my wisdom teeth removal that was on Monday. Still numb, still sore. Still taking pain medications. Still unable to eat solids. On top of that, now I'm back to taking care of 4 children and a house. Cooking and cleaning. Oh wait, there's more. Kai woke up this morning, crying and throwing up. Fun---sickness. Don still has overnight hours. We are still in the same rental house after 6 years.
However, today, in the midst of all of this, God has been gracious to me. I am content. I am content IN HIM. I am loved and provided for by our sovereign God. He has put me in this situation to sanctify me, to make me more like Him. I am thankful that He cares so much about me. That He wants to draw me closer to Him.

11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.
12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.
13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Family Camp

So, as I mentioned before--I don't have many pictures of family camp. I failed in that department.
But as always, it was a great weekend to make memories with my family and church family.
It was fun this year that Liam was able to participate in so much (slip & slide, flour dodgeball, pew races, and the foot race.)
And Don and I even did the 3 legged race---and may I add, we made a good team.
The worship was wonderful. One of the things that stuck out to me was Scott's message on Philippians 4. Contentment. Something I know I struggle with when it comes to Don's work schedule. And our house. It was a convicting, yet encouraging sermon. I know The Lord is sovereign and has us where He wants us. I just need His help to trust Him.

Don't worry, Don's Tilley hat was borrowed.

Off and on rainy day on Saturday

Liam's about to crawl under the pews for the race

And I stole this from Maggi's blog because I thought it was cute. Kai and Penople. Kai claims his walk with Maggi and Penelope was his favorite part of family camp.

We recovered quickly this year. Now I have my wisdom teeth removal to look forward to. But not before Billy and Sarah's wedding!!

I can be your hero baby!

Why yes, I did use Enrique Iglesias lyrics for my blog title. Thanks for asking.

Anyway, tonight was Action Hero night at Chickfila. Dress like an action hero, get a free kids meal. Naturally, we hear the word 'free' and we are in!

Evangeline really rocked her costume tonight! I made a felt mask for her today and she did great with it! She acted like she didn't even notice it. She has been obsessed with sticking out her tongue this past week. I think she just realized it was there. I took her outside for a photoshoot and had a hard time narrowing down the pictures. She was so cute for all of them! So I'll post a few on here--just because I can

But in the end, I chose this one for Instagram

The Lovings let Liam use their Spider-man costume. He won the costume contest! A couple of neat glow sticks, a Captain America washcloth, and a free kids meal coupon.

Kai was Superman, complete with Superman's hairdo. Kai called the little curl in front his 'hoop.'

I thought about doing a simple Batman costume for Kingston. He has a batman shirt. But I decided to go with a different idea for him. I chose Han Solo, because obviously he is pretty cool--at least according to Maggi. Kingston pulled of the look pretty well. This costume was put together super last minute with only the stuff he had in his drawer.

The boys had a great time! We got their picture (minus Kingston) with some of the workers, dressed as super heroes. CFA had a photographer taking pictures. So I'll have one whenever they email that one to me.

We had to run some errands afterwards. I think the boys loved running errands in their costumes. Fun times!

I'll post a family camp blog soon. However, I barely took any pictures. Let's just say that technology was put away for the weekend, and that was nice! But that means no pictures :(
