Tonight I asked Don to do a "guest post." He told me a Liam story tonight that I thought was cute but it just felt too weird to post his story. I figured it would be better coming from him. So, then I decided that I'm going to make him write guest posts from time to time.
And now, let me introduce you to: Mr. Donald Roberts
Tonight as I (Don) was getting Liam and Kai's toothbrushes ready for them before bedtime, Liam was slowly coming up the stairs and saying goodnight to Jessica fairly loudly. I told him that he needed to talk quieter because Evangeline was asleep up in our room. He said, "Oh yeah, and Kingston too!". I said, "Yeah, Evangeline and Kingston are both going night night so you need to be quiet". Liam replied by saying, "Ooo! Double trouble!"
No Idea where that came from, but it was super cute and very funny.

I have a 5 year old! I can hardly believe it! People have always said how quickly kids grow up. But now I'm experiencing it. It seems so recently I was pregnant with my first child. Now I can barely remember what life was like without children. Or even what it was like when we only had Liam.
Liam has been such a blessing to us. He is sweet, hilarious, compassionate, and insanely smart! He never ceases to impress me. Around the time he turned 4, we started reading lessons. He is a great little reader now. He loves to learn and I hope he is always like that. We are starting Kindergarten with him this year. Not super structured but just giving him new things to learn.
He is a wonderful big brother and I think he will always have a special relationship with his baby sister. He loves to hold her, talk to her with a sweet little voice, and sing songs to her.
He loves to draw and color all the time. Give him a piece of paper and a pen and he will be entertained for a long, long time. He has also been in a stage for the past year where he will not let me fix his hair. He wears hats--all the time!
So now, the questions and answers I got from him on his birthday.

I'm pretty sure I have his answers from his 4th birthday tucked away in a box. When I come across it, I can't wait to compare his answers and see if anything has changed in the past year.
Because of all the #timanie wedding preparations, I decided not to have a party for Liam this year. I usually like to do a little something, especially now that he's at an age to enjoy it, just to show him how much we love him. But I think he knows it :) I tell him all day long. Last Sunday was the church picnic so I made a giant ice cream cake for him and Audrey (who also shares a birthday with him.) Everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to them. I think Liam thought the whole picnic was planned for him. He was so excited the whole day. Plus he got to swim!
Then on his birthday, we celebrated as a family. First we had to take Evangeline to the doctor because her eczema was getting out of control, then we hit up Chick fil a (his request.)
This picture was actually not posed. I snapped it really quickly in between some different "stunts" he was showing me. I love this picture!
Hashtags are the bomb! #timanie is the hashtag we are using for Tim and Stef's wedding and the weeks leading up to it. Maggi and I look for any excuse to use it. Last week we set up for their wedding shower. It was a great time with lots of good, Biblical marriage advice. And because it was a Rockport event, there was lots of good food. Brunch, to be exact! It was a lovely shower and they were blessed with lots of gifts!
Evangeline had fun watching us set up
The Tuckahoe Tribe got them this gigantic, unique, custom sign
Today we had her Bridal shower. Complete with delicious Ex-cop Donuts!!
**just a little side note here--I had an "adverse reaction" to a mouth rinse at the dentist on Monday. As a result, I lost the ability to tastes sweet. Probably the worst reaction anyone could ever have to a mouth rinse. Except maybe if it had stopped my breathing. Anyway, today was the first day I was able to taste sweets all week! I'm so thankful it kicked in today!!
We had a little photo session this morning before heading up to church
The bride with her bridesmaids
A friendship that has been brewing for the past 20 years. Distance will never change it ;)
We all happened to coordinate with each other and the decorations
Here's my 'artistic' donut man

There's been a lull in our activities lately. That's good. We've still been busy, just not much to write about. However, it's about to get really, really busy. Our schedule is pretty booked for the next 2 months. A lot of not so fun stuff mixed in with the really exciting countdown to Tim and Stef's wedding!
So what's been going on with us?
Baby girl is now 3 months old. Currently, she's dealing with extreme eczema on her head and shoulders. I just ordered a probiotic for her--I hope it helps! I feel so bad for her and her itchy head!
Lots of game playing for the boys. Earthbound, monopoly, Quikopoly. Yeah, Quiktrip has their own version. The boys are obsessed.
Liam begged to hold her while they watched "Homeward Bound."
My little sailor boy, looking so cute. Not acting that way. I didn't really want to blog about how much this little troublemaker drives me crazy. But I'm hoping that one day I can look back and see that he has come a long way from the little boy who would throw things in the toilet, torment his brothers (yeah right), take his diaper off at naptime/bedtime, destroy everything, and disobey at all times.
A rare picture of E without her headband. Someone likes to take them off of her, not naming any names.
Lots of rain this summer. Lots of rain dances
A spiderweb in the rain
Liam and the little frog he caught
The boys begged to go to my dentist appointment. They knew there was a tv.
And now ending this post with one more super cute picture of Evangeline! She is so photogenic!

The great thing about St. Louis is that it seems to have a lot of free activities throughout the year. We are cheap, we love free! The Muny is just one of those things that I like to do every year. Just once and just in the free seats. I am not much of a theater person (especially if I've already seen the movie.) I just tend to leave the theater saying "yeah, it was okay but the movie was better." But I do love the experience.
This year's experience was great. Great friends, great weather, great food. I will say that the show itself is not what I would classify as "great."
I was looking forward to seeing Mary Poppins at the Muny all summer. Little did I know it would be changed so much from the original story line. The actors did a great job, but I just was not a fan of all the added songs and a drastic change to the story.
We had a fun time, even with the multiple trips to the bathroom with the boys.
